New article! The role of agroforestry in soil carbon sequestration

“Coffee agroforestry, soil carbon, and restoration of a tropical Afromontane rainforest"

This article suggests that, whilst coffee agroforestry systems can maintain soil carbon levels, they do not fully restore soil carbon dynamics or microbial functioning when compared with natural forest regeneration. This study provides new insights into the role of agroforestry in soil carbon recovery and highlights the need to integrate agroforestry into forest restoration strategies in order to improve soil health, ecosystem resilience and climate change mitigation in tropical landscapes.
