New Internships on Macrofungi!
Inês Almeida, Margarida Glória, Mariana Simões, and Afonso Noronha are the latest students to join the team of the TRICAFÉ II Trilateral Cooperation Project at the Instituto Superior de Agronomia, beginning their undergraduate and master’s internships dedicated to the study of macrofungi in Chimanimani National Park in Mozambique.
The four internships are structured around an integrated scientific approach to the study of macrofungi, ranging from the development of fundamental laboratory skills and the macro- and micromorphological characterization of species to the application of ecological mapping and taxonomic identification methodologies. This training is complemented by molecular biology techniques, enabling the analysis of genetic markers that enhance identification accuracy and contribute to the assessment of biodiversity and the environmental quality of ecosystems.
